-
- Oh great, just what we need, some dipshit to start trouble like that.
- What the fuck is up with these whingers? Softlogic never made a secret
- of the fact that they didn't want to release Pagestream 3 but felt
- compelled by
- a) Pressure from existing users
- b) The depressed state of the Amiga market at the time
-
- They even go as far as telling you, in every update, all the bugs and
- short comings that they know about and ask you report any you find.
-
- This sort of shortsighted mentality makes me want to puke. Christ if it
- was Softwood or Digita with their Wordprocessors, I would still disagree
- but I'd be able to see your point, as they tell us (rightly so) that they
- are shipping finished product, and bloody good they are too! Soft Logik
- on the other hand never made that claim for Pagestream 3.0, as far as I
- know. To the contrary, as a paying customer of Soft Logik, I'm totally
- aware that I shouldn't expect a finished version untill 3.1 ships.
-
- Certainly when I bought my copy of Pagestream 3.0, I knew it wasn't
- finished before parting with any money. Does nobody actually give a
- thought for what it must be like to support the Amiga at the moment. A
- dead machine that has come back to life at a way too expensive price, I
- bet these guys really feel secure in their jobs? The question must be
- asked: Why are they bothering? It can't be for the money at the moment,
- which only leaves commitment to the Amiga as a valid reason for staying.
-
- I for one applaud their loyalty, thanks Soft Logik, go and screw
- these morons into the dirt, but don't be fooled into thinking that all
- Amigans are thinking in the same way, were not! Some of us can grasp the
- incredibly difficult task you are trying to achieve with limited manpower.
- To stay in business over, even the short term, SL are going to have to
- have products out on other platforms that bring in hard cash, simply to
- pay the wage bill! To sue a company in that state is either deliberate
- sabotage or very dim witted, if the intention was to see a finished
- product.
